Totally lives up to the pictures and beyond, amazing home and location literally on the beach.
We spent 3 nights at Blackrock Beach House mid January to do some storm watching. Overall the home and location lived up to the pictures and all of the positive points listed on the Bookings site. We were seeking a place that had lots of room to socialize, ocean views and ability to cook our own meals. Top points for all three - very open and comfortable living/dining area, the ocean at high tide is about 20 yards rom the sundeck and viewable from all rooms and a very well equipped kitchen with gas range. The location was not difficult to find and very private, essentially your own secluded bay. Was so nice to open the bedroom doors and fall asleep to the sound of surf rolling in! The decor is as shown in the pictures and a great example of "beach house" with lots of decorations fitting the theme, wood floors, stone fireplace, etc. The Timber Room (vaulted post and beam area separating the 2 homes) was very nice with a large stone wood fireplace. There were also lots of blankets, towels, loaner boots, etc. to make the stay even more comfortable. The location was great for our day trips up to Tofino and Long Beach. As in the pictures the beach home has an attached guest house however is quite private and at the time not occupied. Our host Barb was very friendly and helpful and always quick to respond to any questions or needs.
(Not dislikes but FYI) Given it was mid January many of the shops and restaurants in Tofino and Ucluelet were not open, something to plan for. There was 4 of us so the cost PP was a bit higher than what we normally spend but sometimes you need to spoil yourself? The home can easily sleep 3 couples but the third bedroom is a double/single bunk-type setup.
